Edutopia - Borrowing a Literacy Strategy From Band Class

This article is particularly interesting to me because one of my main areas of focus is literacy integration into content areas. Literacy is not just for ELA classes, and students will fair better in other subjects, even mathematics, when literacy strategies are employed. Reading this band teacher's strategy reminds me to point out the importance of using When the author speaks of "read, reread, and re-reread," this is where students can apply this strategy to numberless word problems. More focus is placed on understanding rather than solving, which leads to better outcomes. There are several resources all over the internet to get the idea!
